Jai Kashyap Nandan (Surya Aarti)

The standard aarti of Surya, the Sun god, son of Kashyap and Aditi. It praises him as the remover of the darkness of the three worlds who rides a seven-horsed chariot, opens the lotus, cures diseases of the eye and sends the rains, and it ends by asking for freedom from ignorance and true knowledge. It is sung on Sundays, on Chhath, Makar Sankranti and with the morning offering of water to the Sun.

Played from the artist's or label's own YouTube channel. Recordings often sing extra verses or a slightly different wording from the text shown here.
